Hope Story: Week 1 and 2
4 Rescue Bridges 1. My situation is my assignment
2. My tribe
3. My praying
4. My Hope Story
ACTION STEPS -pray for a new hunger and compassion for all the lost around you and ask God to show you who to pray for. -start a rescue journal of who you pray for and what you pray for along with the experience surrounding the situation. COMPASSION FOR TODAY? Matthew 9:36 Jesus compassion for people
COMPASSION… not
Critical
Cynical
Conceited (self absorbed)
WHERE IS THE PASSION?
We are all on a voyage and we think we are invincible like the TITANIC!
Two boards posted in Liverpool posted: SAVED.      LOST. JOHN 5:11-12 “…IF you don’t have Jesus you are lost”
Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Ephesians 2:12 “In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope.”
2 Thessalonians 1:9 “They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.”
Jude 23 NLT
23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.
We want to rescue people from a Christless grave.
Lord open the DOOR Lord open their HEART Lord open my MOUTH
LIFE-JACKETS Over 300 (328) died in their life jackets—not because the Titanic sank. They died because those in boats would not help them. Is that us? Attending our safe churches. Singing our safe church songs. Ignoring those who are not like us. Lord help me to paddle back!
ACTION STEPS TO CONTINUE -pray for a new hunger and compassion for all the lost around you and ask God to show you who to pray for. -start a rescue journal of who you pray for and what you pray for along with the experience surrounding the situation.
WEEK 4 Last week we were asked to LOOK IN THE MIRROR and say— “I am someone’s chance.” Now look at the person beside you and say— “I am someone’s chance. I have a HOPE Story!” Those who are far from God are waiting for someone—you and me— to share with them how God makes the difference. NOT religion or rules. Our OPEN heart OPENS their heart! Your testimony gives people the right to say,
“Lord I need some help. I can’t do this by myself!”
Rev. 12:11 They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
5 Characteristics of a HOPE Story:
Transparent
Being honest and vulnerable “Crud-Entials” the stuff you have been through.
Your trail of tears.
Specific
The junk needs to be specific so specific Hope can call on God for a specific change or healing.
“I was blind and now I can see.”
Be specific—how you were without Jesus and how you changed with Jesus.
Brief
Don’t elaborate. Get to the point. Get to Jesus before they get distracted. Get to the Hope
Current
Don’t dig up years ago, bring it forward for today. Make it real.
Jesus Centered
Not just God—but Jesus! Give your… BC - Turning Point - AD Point people to Jesus!
Your Hope Story can only be told by you!

REMEMBER...
Psalm 107:2 NLT
2 Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
ACTION POINT: To share your Hope Story with your group.
WEEK 5: NOW... The Story That Changes History
There are 3 points to remember and practice in Breaking Through to Where Lost People Are:
1. Use words they can understand
Colossians 4:4 NIV
4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.
2. A Starting point they care about
Symptoms reveal the disease then the CURE can be applied.
3. A Relationship that Shows You Care
Matthew 5:16 NIV
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
