THE NEHEMIAH SECRETS OF BUILDING GOD’S KINGDOM AND RESTORING LIVES.

You must be building the kingdom in some way… that means to be building up…
Your life isn’t to be taring down things of God… it means to be building up God’s Kingdom
that means you’re to be building up people.
Repairing lives, restoring
Walk in a manner worthy of the high calling
The Holy calling and the High calling is on your life.
The calling on your life is High, Good and Holy… Will you fulfill that calling?
You might think that God gave it, it might be fulfilled… not necessarily …
God called you…
He didn’t call Himself, He called you...
He can’t fulfill your calling… He can give you the power and the will to fulfill it if you let Him do it, yes...
But that is your choice… every calling will have challenges… every calling.
Because there is also an enemy who goes against the purposes and callings of God, that means in your life.
Every calling will have challenges in this world.
apathy discouragements defeats warfare
How can you be ensure you are going to fulfill the calling that God gave you?
We all for the most part can remember a story in the OT of a man called by God to fulfill a great prophetic mission for God.
The finishing and rebuilding of Jerusalem which had to be accomplished so that Messiah could come...
So that you could be saved.
though there were so many obstacles in this calling… so much resistance/ attacks...
yet the way he handled them is going to provide an awesome totally effective keys
practical spiritual powerful … for you to apply in your calling in your life.
His name ment the consolation of God (you could say the encouragement…)
The consolation of God … He was called to go back to the exiles of Israel who were in exile...
The came back to Jerusalem, they were being discouraged, they were trying to fulfill God’s will and build Jerusalem...
He was called to go back.
In Hebrew the word CONSOLATION or COMFORT is the word nechem…
Another name of the Lord is Yehweh.. YEH. that’s an easy name YEH.
NECHEM (Nexum) The Comfort of the Lord.
Nechem… Yeh… we say Nehemiah… Nechem’Yeh - the Comfort of God… Nehemiah
Nehemiah was one of the exiles of Judah in Babylon where he lived … the Persians took over in the Persian Empire
He became the cup bearer “jewish” cup bearer of the king Arterxerxis the Persian king
The cup bearer had a great position a high position… he was entrusted in pouring the drinks at the royal table...
to ensure against assassination of somebody poisoning the cup of the king.
sometimes he would be required to take it himself.
This means Nehemiah was greatly trusted by the king of the Persian Empire.
and he was close to the king, he would have influence on the king
Nehemiah heard a report that the walls of Jerusalem had been broken down and what was not happening is what God has purposed … he grieved…
and the king noticed it. (Nehemiah 2:3-6)
Nehemiah gets permission from the Emperor of Persia ( very big )…
to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and to be governor also over the people.
Its the years around 468 BC when he returned to Jerusalem..
Its 20 years after Ezra did return to minister to the people for restoration
The keys of Nehemiah which are many and we will go over a few (from my notes) and we can continue this study on a later date but even one key here is very powerful within God’s plan/ calling for his life...
The Book of Nehemiah is a book of Jewish people doing building work, construction…
The Jewish people are not mostly known for doing building work/construction or being mechanically inclined…
Back then the Jewish people built because God told them to build...
you may relate … but every child of God is called to build…
in Hebrew the word for child (which you are a child of God) is Ben or Ben’ah and from that word you have Ben’eh which means to build...
a child or son or daughter is one who builds the house … that the link.
So if you are a child of God you must be building the kingdom in some way.
that means you’re to building up, your life is not to be taring down things of God you are to be building up
that means you are to be building up people… repairing lives… restoring… healing.
in some way your life is to be a building up
the impact of your life is to be repairer… building… life and the kingdom of God
your calling is not about making money or being successful in your career… God may do that, but that is not what it is about
Your calling is to build up the kingdom of God and the purposes of God … bring life.
Ask yourself is my life truly building His kingdom?
or is my life truly bringing redemption around me?
Am I bringing life around me?
If not you got to seek the Lord because you life must to that ...
if you are just living for yourself, you’re not fulfilling that calling… Say,” Lord what truly is my calling?” because your life on earth is a calling...
How can my life … everything I have, everything I am, build up Your Kingdom?
How can all I have be used to fulfill Your purposes? thats what you have to ask God… and then you say … “use me Lord.”
the next thing in the book of Nehemiah begins with Nehemiah seeking to do the Will of God
which was to rebuild Jerusalem
we don’t know that an angel came to him
we don’t know if a prophet came to him
we don’t know if a sign was given to him
What we know is Nehemiah knew the Will of God… from the word of God and committed himself to fulfilling it. ( SO WITH YOU )
The first thing you need to do in your life is to make sure you’re in the Will of God
because if you’re not in the Will of God you can’t talk about fulfilling your calling or being blessed.
make sure you’re in the Will of God… God can use supernatural means such as words and dreams, prophetic words, visions
But with or without them you already have to begin the Will of God…
Start with God’s word, what is the Will of God for your life… it may not be specific but it is going to tell you what you need to start moving in the Will of God and that will lead to fulfill your calling.
Get your life inside of this ( the Bible). Get your life aligned with God’s word. Get you life in the Will of God...
If you life is not in the Will of God… whatever is not get it into the Will..
Whatever should not be in the Will of God… in your life, get it out of your life.
Get yourself positioned inside the Will of God
before you do anything, before you embark on something new… did you pray and ask Lord ( before you made that decision ) ...
did you ask Lord is this your Will? Make sure it is… because if not you could be going way off…
Ask Lord ,” is this Your Will?” Does it go with the Spirit of God’s Word?
Do I have the Peace of God? Do I have the council of God? Do I have the conformation of God? Do I have the fruit of God in this?
If so … GO FOR IT with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
Next Key of Nehemiah ( that’s what Nehemiah did )
Nehemiah had a mission… he went forward to Israel Jerusalem with a mission
He is a man on a mission… he wasn’t just going on an endeavor or enterprise or something he wanted to do he had a mission.
And that is crucial in his success…
you to have a mission… and in the word mission you get the word missionary… your a missionary
by definition you might think I am not going to another country I am staying home...
well the Bible says you are not of this world… (v)
the Bible says you are of heaven not earth…
you are on earth which means earth is one big colossal mission field, you are a missionary… and this is your mission field...
this is not your home… if its your home its not your mission field
first thing, you’re not on the planet to hang out or to get more things...
you are on the earth as a mission
in order to live a life on a mission you have to remind yourself everyday,” this is not my home I am a child of heaven, I’m a citizen of heaven I have a mission here every day.”
Every day you wake up ,” Lord what is my mission… I have a large mission but what is my mission today?”
I have a purpose, I have something to accomplish, I have to leave this better then i found it, I have to bless people with my life…
when you wake up its not,” O’ Lord help me through this day...”
It is “I have a mission”… that total changes the way you see things…
Deal with things that way because if you are focused on your mission… your not going to be focused on your problems anymore…
That is just going to be an obstacle … I have a purpose… I’m moving ahead with this…
that means you’re not going to live reacting to everything… you’re living to act upon the world. this is a whole different way of living.
Proactively I have a mission… I am a light to the world…
Another key connected to mission a little different...
Nehemiah didn’t just come to Jerusalem, he was sent to Jerusalem
ultimately he was sent by God, but he was sent by the king and by God
you to are sent … Messiah said “as the Father sent Me I send you...” (v)
So you are to live a sent life… live each day not as one that’s just here, but one who is sent… apply that to every situation
… I am not just in my situation ( think about it…) I am sent into my situation… ( this will change everything )… whole different thing.
I am not just in my home, my family, I am sent to them...
I’m not just at a gathering of relatives and things happen… I am sent to this gathering...
I am not even in this problem… I am not simply in this problem… I am sent to the problem...
that is a whole different way of living…
Your attitude in life should be “i am on a mission from God.”
This will change the way you see everything and act upon everything…
If you are sent you’re not of
you’re not bound by, you’re not overcome by, you’re not mastered by… your are sent, you are of Him who has sent you…
Nehemiah was sent by the king… you are also sent by the King...
If you will be sent, you are sent by the King. That is a Royal mission.
He had one, you have one… that gives you authority, if you are in the will of God you have Authority And you have sovereignty
why? because I’m following God i have an order from God I have Authority.
even if the world goes against you… I have a greater Authority…
Nehemiah knew His calling and that is what kept him
no matter whats going to come his way… it is crucial to know that you are called and know your calling...
you don’t have to know everything about it, but you do have to know ,”I’m called and I have this mission, and you know that I am sent.”
Look at the life of Paul… look at all he went through beatings, persecutions, imprisonment, opposition.
do you think he would have held up and kept going and overcome, if he didn’t know he was called?
he didn’t know his calling, he didn’t remind himself God you called me to the nations the jew and the gentile…
nothing could stop Paul because he knew his mission.
you need to know your calling because when you come up against opposition which you will.
As Nehemiah did it will keep you strong.
it will keep you going because the calling of God is bigger then any opposition. 13.46
