There is one decision in your life that will truly matter.
It’s not who you marry. It’s not where you work. It’s not what school you go to. But this one decision will have an impact on all of the other important decisions of your life.
The decision is this:
Will you, or will you not believe in Jesus?
Let me explain to you why and how this is the decision we all need to worry the most about.
Actually, I’m not going to explain it, God is. You see God gave us His plan right here *show Bible*. He crafted this over thousands of years by using men to write his book, much like we write with pens, that’s how God wrote this with the help of mankind.
God wants you to know what His plan is. He wants you to know the answers to all of your biggest questions.
I am going to take you through a top down view of the Bible.
This is going to be crazy because you normally it would take you 70 hours to read this whole book and get those answers. I am about to give you only what you need to know. Now if you have never heard this you’re going to have tons of questions, and you’re going to have loads of doubt and criticisms and arguments. And we love those, because like I said, God wants you to have the answers to those questions, doubts, and the Bible can stand against your criticisms and arguments. So after I present this please bring me anything that makes you not believe me and let me help you understand.
God’s Word Summarized
God created the World to glorify Him
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Colossians 1:16 “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
God created everything in a moment of time. What scientist call the Big Bang Theory, we call God creating everything from nothing in a single moment.
Humanity sinned (disobeyed the God of the Universe) and became enemies with God.
This all powerful, all good, all loving, all righteous, all pure, all wise, all knowing, all present, God. Had his creation, rebel against Him.
Rebellion against a brother or sister, rebellion against the president, rebellion against the God of the Universe (huge punishment, because He’s a huge God.)
3. Sin Entered the world
Rebellion against God is called sin. Sin is an archery term meaning missed the mark. When we sin, we are missing the mark of God’s perfect righteousness and for His glorification.
And death through sin, eternal death for our spirit as well as death for our physical bodies. Along with death entering the rest of creation.
How do We be at peace with God again?
inwardly: we have to have right motivations to glorify God
outwardly: We have to do the truly right thing as defined by God.
We can’t have sinned previously.
Milk glass example.
The previous sin has to be punished
So How Do We Stop Being Enemies of God?
You would have to never have sinned.
You are doomed.
God justifiably can send you to punishment for eternity, there is not a single thing you can say to excuse yourself. It’s perfectly fair of God to allow it because He’s God and He decides what is fair.
BUT God decided to do something to make a way for you.
He decided to meet all the criteria for you.
So God came down, and put Himself in your body, and gave Himself the name Jesus. A super ordinary name back then like the name “John” today, but now is one of the most sacred names because of what Jesus did.
God lived your life, a completely ordinary human life as a carpenter for 30 years.
But He did it without sinning
He did it while doing all the right things, for all the right reasons.
Then He told everyone who He was, and what He was going to do next to make a way for us to come back to God
But God decided instead to make a way for YOU. So Jesus decided to die the most excruitating and slow death that mankind could deal to a man at that time, for you.
Now the way to being saved is through believing Jesus was God, He was God’s plan to save us, and believing in what Jesus did, which is that He suffered so that our sins would be paid for.
Believe, Repent, and Baptized
Now He tells us to believe, repent (admit you’re a sinner, ask for Jesus to forgive your sins), and be baptized (profess your faith to others!) THEN TELL OTHERS.
Let your light so shine among men that they may see your good deeds and give glory to your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
Once all the nations of the world have heard the gospel, Jesus promises to come back and bring about the end of the earth.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:18-20
Matthew 28:18–20 ESV
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
“Listen, I am coming soon! I will bring rewards with me. I will repay everyone for what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End… Surely, I am coming soon.” – The last page of the Bible. (Rev. 22:16,20 erv)
Judgement Seat before Jesus
He will be at the judgement seat and he will judge our lives, for some this will be their first time meeting Jesus because they rejected his invite. That will be scary for them, because God’s wrath will still be on their shoulders to bear. for others it will be like seeing a friend. We will be judged only on what we did with the information we were given, if we shared the good news and glorified God then we will be rewarded more in heaven, which is an eternal life that doesn’t end.
