Of all things, Jesus chose to begin this Sermon on the Mount with 9 sayings that can seem confusing and even contradictory. Yet, these beatitudes set the stage, and, when understood, explain exactly who God's kingdom was for and what it would be doing. Today, we look at the first 3 verses of the beatitudes and find out what it took to take hold of the Kingdom of God.
