For the JOY set before Him
Hebrews 12:1–2 (NLT)
Hebrews 12:1–2 NLT
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Joy gives Eternal Perspective

Joys looks beyond today to see tomorrow
Joy looks past the circumstances to the victory
Joy endures temporary pain for permanent gain
Joy empowers purpose of living, reason for giving
Joy is a means to the ultimate end
What does Joy Do?

Joy Gives Power to Start - goes all in

Matthew 13:44 (NLT)
Matthew 13:44 NLT
44 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.

A - God’s Joy was Jesus’ Strength

Jesus was anointed with Joy

Hebrews 1:9 (NLT)
Hebrews 1:9 NLT
9 You love justice and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.”
9 You love justice and hate evil. Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you, pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.”
Where did Jesus get His joy?
From doing His Father’s will - doing the work, fulfilling His call - no matter the cost
Pleasing the Father despite His suffering
How did Jesus keep His joy?
Homecoming - Although apart from Father God now physically, Jesus knew He would someday return to heaven.
Joy sees the results of its efforts - Even while praying and agony in the garden of Gethsemane, an angel appeared, and ministered to Jesus. I believe the angel showed Jesus, through a spiritual gift of a Word of Wisdom, the faces of millions of saved souls and healed bodies because of completing His mission on earth.
This eternal joy empowered Jesus to push through the temporary pain and suffering in His body, soul and spirit, that He was about to endure as a sacrifice for humanity.
Jesus looked THROUGH the Cross to the crown
Gods joy was Jesus strength to be mocked for your acceptance.
God’s joy was Jesus strength to be beaten for your healing
Dodge joy was Jesus strength to carry your Cross.
God’s joy was Jesus strength to forgive his enemies from the cross.
God’s joy was Jesus strength to give up his spirit for you.
God’s joy was Jesus strength to go to your hill for three days and three nights so that you could go to his heaven

B - God’s Joy is YOUR Strength

His joy was strength for your victory

GET Joy

His joy is your strength

Joy comes from God’s WORD

Receive Word with joy despite hard times

Joy comes from Revelation of God

Joyce Meyer -
In the New Testament epistles, “joy” or “rejoice” are mentioned some fifty times.
Jesus raised the subject of joy with His disciples mostly In the Upper Room on the night of His betrayal and arrest (John 13–17).
Why did Jesus focus on joy during His last night with His disciples? Because He knew what was coming. He knew that the tribulation that lay ahead for Him would tempt the disciples to lose their hope, to lose their joy. Before leaving the Upper Room, He said to them, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33, emphasis added). Because Jesus would overcome the world, the disciples could keep their joy.
John 16:33 NLT
33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
Is the world trying to steal your joy today? Jesus has overcome the world; in Him, your joy is made full.
Joy comes from God, not circumstances
The moment you say - I can’t be happy unless this changes - the enemy will use it to make you miserable.
Church - be happy regardless - It could be a test to see where your joy is.

Joy comes from Revelation of seeing JESUS

John 16:22 (NLT)
John 16:22 NLT
22 So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.
22 So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.

Luke 24:52 (NLT)
Luke 24:52 NLT

24 You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.

2. She is EXPECTING - can’t wait!
3. She is GLOWING with excitement
