Jesus is alive forever. You too can live forever.

Matthew 28:5–6 NIV
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
Matthew 28:9 NIV
9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
If you had have been there, you would have seen him too.
If you were alive in the area at the time, you could have talked to hundreds of people who witnessed Jesus Christ raise from the dead.
Today, we have the testimony to point us to the risen Christ.’
But what will you do with this testimony?
In the Bible, there's a story about a doubting disciple named Thomas. He couldn't believe that Jesus had risen from the dead until he saw and touched the wounds in Jesus' hands and side. Sometimes the most incredible testimonies are the ones that turn out to be true, just like Thomas' experience.
Do you have doubts?
Matthew 28:17 NIV
17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
What have you done about your doubts?
Talked to anyone about it?
Read the gospels for yourself?
Read something helpful?
THE SOLDIERS BRIBED TO LIE
28:11-15 Wide circulation of this story probably led to the emperor’s edict in the Nazareth Inscription (likely dated ca AD 41-54) that threatened death to anyone who removed an entombed body. Several aspects of the soldiers’ story make no sense. If the soldiers were all asleep, they could not have known that it was Jesus’s disciples who removed his body. Furthermore, it is extremely unlikely that all of the soldiers would have slept at the same time. Finally, soldiers were severely punished or even executed for sleeping on duty.

The case for Christ, Lee Strobel. - investigative reporter, set out to prove Christianity wrong, ended up convinced by the evidence, and trusted in the risen Christ.
These are important questions!

Your eternity is at stake

Matthew 25:46 NIV
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
The righteous are those that believe in Jesus, they receive life, all else face eternal punishment.
So we read in 1 Peter…
1 Peter 1:3 NIV
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Jesus’ resurrection grants new life, eternal life, to all who believe in him.
World records… are made to be broken. But in history records can stand for years and years, then someone breaks the record and all of the sudden many people can beat that old record. Men 4 min mile / 1954 Roger Bannister 3:59.4/ 1755 athletes faster (2022) / Hicham El Guerrouj, representing Morocco 3:43.13.
Bannister lead the way for male athletes to break that 4 minute mark.
But Jesus, bearing the wrath of God, died and was raised to life, breaking the power of death and sin, and opening the way for all who believe in him to have life; eternal life.
When something so groundbreaking, so marvellous, so earth shattering happens, we must respond… God commands us to respond, to believe in the risen Jesus; to take hold of this precious gift; to follow him into eternity, beyond the horizon of this life and into the next.
Is life in Jesus yours?

Jesus is alive. It is right to worship him.

Matthew 28:9 NIV
9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
Matthew 4:10 NIV
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
(Deuteronomy 6:13 “13 Fear the Lord your God, serve him only and take your oaths in his name.” Not to forget the Lord in the land they are receiving // idols.)
Jesus didn’t rebuke them like he rebuked the devil. Jesus accepted their worship because he has been given all authority
Daniel 7:13–14 NIV
13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Matthew 28:18 NIV
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Jesus is the eternal king, who during his ministry on earth, preached that the kingdom was near… now having been raised from the dead, the kingdom is established.
<EARTH from distance>
Jesus has authority over all, so:
it is right to worship him, give him glory, thanks and praise… with your words, with your songs, with all you life
Honour him with your life… serve your king, as he has served you… Matthew 16:24–27 “24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.”
Gather with others to exalt his name. It is your future… Philippians 2:9–11 “9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Worship Jesus by making him known in all the world!

Galilee?
Matthew 28:7 “7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.””
Matthew 28:10 “10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.””
Matthew 4:15–17 NIV
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali, the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles— 16 the people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.” 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
Matthew 28:18–20“18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.””
