New American Standard Bible: Luke Chapter 23:46
46 And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT.” Having said this, He breathed His last.
We are dependents without choice. This means that we are not choosing to be feed but hunger comes and the one with the food knows when to feed us, because without them we will die of hunger. We are dependent on the source to give us what is needed. But we soon go through a stage of independent choices, that brings use to think we don’t need anyone or the source. We soon find out that we can get the food for ourself, and don’t need anyone to get it for us anymore. If we look at how we become so independent, it is driven by the thought that we can do things on our own. This is absent the thought that we need someone to provide the food we independently go and get. There are thing we must do on our own when we are able, but it still requires some interdependence. We go and get what is provided by the one who is able to provide. Provision is good for us, but we must understand provision. This is a case of interdependence. The one with the provision knows the other party has an independent choice to work with the provision by becoming a dependent. This is interdependence.
Father- Dependent: By calling on Father you are saying that i depend on father to do fatherly things for me. That makes me dependent on father God. When we call on him we are asking for his provisions. This says i acknowledge that i need you to do what needs to be done. Having the mind set that i can not do it on my own.
Psalms 31:3&4
3 For You are my rock and my fortress;
For Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
4 You will pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
Into your hands-Independent : I stand alone to make the choice to put myself in the hand of the Father. This is what has to happen so that we can operate in a interdependent way.
Psalms 31:1&2
1 In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never be ashamed;
In Your righteousness deliver me.
2 Incline Your ear to me, rescue me quickly;
Be to me a rock of strength,
A stronghold to save me.
I commit my spirit- Interdependence: by placing our spirit into the hands of the father says i need to work with God in order to follow the model of Jesus
Galatians 5:13 (NASB95)
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

5 Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have ransomed me, O Lord, God of truth.
