As we can see so much happen that day and as we just heard from the skit, Peter, this strong rock, even denied Jesus 3 time’s.
We heard the story, now let’s look at the scripture.
Matthew 26:69–75 (NKJV)69 Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, “You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”
70 But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are saying.”
71 And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to those who were there, “This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 But again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the Man!”
73 And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.” 74 Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed. 75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus who had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So he went out and wept bitterly.
The thing I see about Peter, that like so many of us, when the pressure get’s hot, we can lose it.
But what I also see is that God is so good that even when we blow it, He is right there to help us.
He then appear’s to Peter and His disciple to encourage them and to tell them, everything is ok.
Luke 24:33–34 (NKJV) 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together,
34 saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
So on this Good Friday, I want to say that no matter how far you are from God, He still loves you and wants to welcome you back home. So today is truly A GOOD FRIDAY.
John 3:16–17 (TPT) 16 For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.
17 “God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it.
