Transformed lives begin with the gospel message of Christ, for in it is the power of God. It is the gospel that brings us salvation: “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes:
‘The righteous will live by faith’ ” (Romans 1:16–17)
Through the gospel message of Christ, we learn “to put off your old self,
which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:22–24).
Ephesians 4:22–24 ESV
to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
Overcomer
1 John 5:4-5
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Overcomer are followers of Christ who successfully resist the power and temptation of the world’s system
You have power over the enemy
Give the devil too much credit
Romans 14:17 ESV
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Enemy come to steal you joy.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Move
I. There can be no forward progression without action.
A. Take Action
Some people know what to do, just don’t do it.
A. Trust
B. Commit
C.
B. Once you are born again, you can no longer remain the same. In fact you are a new creature.
2 Corinthians 5:17 - “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”
C. God doesn’t save you to sit on a pew
1 Corthinthians 12 chapter - we are one body, many members.
D. Luke 22:31-33
Luke 22:31–33 ESV
“Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.”
God has not promised me sunshine. That's not the way it's going to be. But a little rain. Mixed with God's sunshine. A little pain.
Pain is, for most of us, a very unpleasant feeling, but it serves the important evolutionary purpose of alerting us to potentially life-threatening injuries.
I. God designed you to feel pain
II during medial visits doctors ask how much pain are you in
III
There’s rare decease - people who can not feel pain.
Without it, people are more prone to hurting themselves and so, because they can be completely oblivious to serious injuries, a life without pain is often cut short.
Acts 9
Paul on his way to Damascus’
I. Light shines on Saul
II. He says “Who are you,Lord?”
III. The lord says “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting”
Rise and Enter the city.
IV. Text - we see a disciple named ananias
V. Ananias “Lord, I have heard many things about this man. He has done much evil to your people”
VI. Acts 9:15-16
Acts 9:15–16 ESV
But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”
Acts 16
Acts 16:16 - 24, Summary…..
Paul & Silas commands an evil spirit to come out of a slave girl, and the owners bring them before the courts and they are thrown in jail.
Acts 16:25–31 ESV
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened. When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
I. Can you sing when it seems like all hope is lost?
Perseverance
I. Stick to the assignment
James 1:2–3 - Spiritually speaking, one of the benefits of pain is expressed by James
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance”
According to James, when we endure painful trials, we can take joy in knowing that God is at work in us to produce endurance and Christ-like character. This applies to mental, emotional and spiritual pain as well as to physical pain.
II. Worship the Lord in your darkest moment.
III. The Boys - Is it morning? They now know it can be dark outside, but it’s take to get up.
26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
II. Worship the Lord in your darkest moments will not only set you free but all those connected to you.
III. Ephesians 5:18-20
Ephesians 5:18–20 ESV
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
27 And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
28 But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
Transformed mind - Forgives
Matthew 5:44
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you
29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Loving your enemy will cause them to come to christ.
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Hosanna is a word used in some songs of praise, particularly on Palm Sunday. It is of Hebrew origin and was part of the shout of the multitudes as Jesus entered Jerusalem: “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” (Matthew 21:9).
Hosanna is often thought of as a declaration of praise, similar to hallelujah, but it is actually a plea for salvation. The Hebrew root words are found in Psalm 118:25, which says, “Save us, we pray, O LORD!” (ESV). The Hebrew words yasha (“deliver, save”) and anna (“beg, beseech”) combine to form the word that, in English, is “hosanna.” Literally, hosanna means “I beg you to save!” or “please deliver us!”
So, as Jesus rode the donkey into Jerusalem, the crowds were perfectly right to shout “Hosanna!” They were acknowledging Jesus as their Messiah, as shown in their address “Son of David.” Theirs was a cry for salvation and a recognition that Jesus is able to save.
Later that day, Jesus was in the temple, and the children present were again shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” (Matthew 21:15). The chief priests and the teachers of the Law were displeased: “ ‘Do you hear what these children are saying?’ they asked him. ‘Yes,’ replied Jesus, ‘have you never read, “From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise” ’?” (Matthew 21:16). In saying, “Hosanna!” the people were crying out for salvation, and that’s exactly why Jesus had come. Within a week Jesus would be hanging on a cross.
