Tradition on this day is that we preach on palm Sunday I remember as a Boy the palm leaves decorating the hallways of the church the church stage in Sunday school we used palm leaves to make palm crosses so what is Palm Sunday This is the Story which fulfills the prophecy of Zachariah where the messiah would Ride into Jerusalem on the back of a colt donkey signifying His rein on earth and all the People would cry out Hosana Hosana
This was full fulled in Matthew
Zechariah 9:9 NASB95
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, Humble, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Matthew 21:9 NASB95
The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!”
The Prophecy the fulfillment
Now I want to read a little context so we have the Big picture you see I always struggled with why would they praise him one week and before the week was over Crucify him lets read the context
Matthew 21:1–17 NASB95
When they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to Me. “If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.” This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet: “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold your King is coming to you, Gentle, and mounted on a donkey, Even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’ ” The disciples went and did just as Jesus had instructed them, and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their coats on them; and He sat on the coats. Most of the crowd spread their coats in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them in the road. The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!” When He had entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?” And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.” And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves. And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer’; but you are making it a robbersden.” And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that He had done, and the children who were shouting in the temple, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they became indignant and said to Him, “Do You hear what these children are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies You have prepared praise for Yourself’?” And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there.
You see Jesus came a disrupted their tradition their religion their way of doing things and it was the ones who were the most religions that wanted him dead because of it
I also want you to see Jesus is and always will be the same
This is what we theologians refer to the immutability of Christ or the doctrine of immutability
Which in English means God never changes His nature is and always will be the same,

Malachi 3:6

Malachi 3:6 NASB95
“For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.
Hebrews 13:8 NASB95
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 6:17 NASB95
In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,
Job 23:13 ESV
But he is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? What he desires, that he does.
So when Jesus walked into the temple and saw those buying and selling for profit He was disgusted and just a taste of His wrath was shown
Explain why he was mad
But again He will come and this time not on the back of a Donkey but on the back of a White Stallion
He will not becoming for peace but to bring forth His wrath on a ungodly nation I fear that much of the church are in as much danger as those religious leaders that were in the court yard that day. As they on that day found themselves on the Wrong side of God I fear many church leader many church member will too on that day find their selves on the wrong side of Gods Holy and just wrath
Remember he didn't come for the religious but for the sinner who would give their life into His arms Live for Him through Him these are the ones Jesus Loves
60% of billy grahams people not saved
Revelation 19:11–16 NKJV
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
He is coming Back I believe it may be very soon
I feel it in my bones I'm going home soon
What side of the war will you be on will you who have sacrificed your life for the sake of His be one that is on his fighting side been glorified and clothed in white linion or will you be on the side of the pharisees that rejected His truth because they wouldn't let their preconceptions of who they thought God would be or how he would act that they denied him when
