As we prepare for Easter, lets set our hearts on the most important thing
and that is the resurrection of Christ.
The world is always asking questions such as:
what will happen when I die
Will I go somewhere?
Is this all there is?
What does all of this mean?
All of these are valid questions
however, we should know
that we simply need to go no father than scripture to find the answers
In 1 Corinthians 15:16–20 Paul tells us.... “For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”
Here Paul addresses the issue of resurection and eternal life
he answers the questions asked above
See without the resurrection
that faith we have in Christ would be futile
it would be in vain
it would be worthless
because without the resurrection of Christ
there is no afterlife for us
in fact with no resurrection
our salvation would be false
Death would have proven stronger than God
and the claims of Jesus would have been untrue
There would be no purpose
and we all would be going no where
That, unfortunaly is the world many unbelievers live in
that is why so much emphasis is placed on this life
In fact it isnt too hard to find the
Burial site of Budda
Muhammad’s body
and Gandi’s urn
all very famous religious leaders
and all of them are dead
however,
when you visit the tomb
of Christ
you will find it empy
and that, is where our hope is found
as we contimplate easter
and the ressurection of our lord
let us remember
that the Bodily Resusrection
of Christ is at the center of our
faith
Becuase He rose from the dead
as he said he would
as he promised
we know that what he said
is true and that He is God
The resurrectoin afirms
all of the things Jesus said as truth
it also confirms his ability to say
“I am the resurrection and the life”
Because Jesus did in fact rise from the dead
we can have certainty that are our sins
are forgiven and that this life
is not all there is
Because he rose and defated death
so we will be raised again
His ressurection guarenteed both
his promise to us
and his authority to make that promise
and with that we know that this life
is not all there is
this life is but a stepping stone
this life is but an appetizer of
the wonderful life to come when
we are able to dwell forever
with him in paradise
so no matter what we are going through
no matter what questions we may have
we have hope in the resurrection
let us pray
