Jesus said my house of nations shall be called the House of Prayer not a den of thieves. MK 11: 15-19

Then cursed the fig tree in Matthew 21:18-22 and in essence that means we can’t just look the part we have to be the part. Further commentary on the subject reveals Both of these acts of Jesus revealed the hypocrisy of Israel: The temple was a den of thieves, and the nation (symbolized by the fig tree) was without fruit. The Inward corruption (The Den of Thieves) and outward fruitlessness (The Fig Tree) were evidences of their hypocrisy. Matt 21:12, MK 11:15-19,Lk 19:45-46

And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that. 5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed,and went and hanged himself.

MK 15:1; LK 22:63-71 Soldiers beat mock and put a crown of thorns on Jesus’ Head MT 27:27-31; MK 15:16-20;

Pilate’s violent Act against Jesus serves as a mockery even though Pilate said ultimately that I find no fault in the man JN 19:1-3. 1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. 2 And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, 3 And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. 4 Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. 5 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! 6 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
