This very real, human experience—Fear—is confusing. It’s complex. It’s debilitating.
According to the Bible, Fear first entered our universe through an angel…

BODY

The Controversy
Lucifer felt like he could run the universe better than God. He was afraid that God was right. As a result, he was cast out.
Revelation 17:7-9.
The Compromise
After God created man, Satan his way to the garden to deceive Adam and Eve. He instilled fear into them, thinking that God was keeping something back from them.
Genesis 3:9-10.
The Covenant
The compromise in the garden was tragic, but it didn’t intimidate God. He could have started all over, but God wanted to be WITH HIS CREATION. So He made a covenant. A promise that one day He would be with them again. Time passes, kings and kingdoms rise. And yet, they break the covenant. They are afraid. But the Old Testament ends in a cliff hanger.
Malachi 4:5-6
The Communion
Even in the face of darkness, God did not want His people to be enslaved to fear. So, He came into this earth in our form to save us.
John 1:14.
But His own people did not receive him. For even they were afraid.
The Cross
In the age of fear, God decides to come into this world to save His people. He meets people who have been consumed by fear. And even the people who were supposed to be used by Him killed Him. Because they feared what He could do to their pride. And they nailed Him to a cross. And Lucifer was watching. But on the third morning…
Matthew 28:1-8 — “Do not be afraid! … He is not here; for He is risen.”
1 John 4:13-18 — “Perfect love casts out fear.”
