Before we start we reflect on the past few days of what Christ did for us on that cross
ask yourself---- would i die for someone.. ya i would my kids my family. my loved ones.. but lets get down right honest. i dont know if i would die for you. i dont know that you would die for me. But someone did die for you and someone did die for me. not that I might be healthy and wealthy and prosper all the days of my life but so that i might live life more abundantly with great joy and peace.
15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd. 17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”
Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. 5 But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
Mary Magdalene was saved from the 7 demons.. the other mary was James the youngers mother.
God was showing his power with these earthquakes and the power of the viel being torn.
6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” 8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
11 While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. 12 And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers 13 and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ 14 And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” 15 So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day.
we will end our study on Gods will with this
we do our own will and the money starts talking. The lies start spewing and the manipulating never ends. This is all a cycle.
money is the root of all evil
lie to cover up the lies
deceiving your friends, family, co workers to make them think your will/sin is justified
Money
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.
Lie
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Deceieve
For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
Our will causes the sins we act upon
the lies, the greed, the deceiving, idolatry, drunkenness, adulatory, addictions.
But there’s hope in a living God.
Have you ever had that feeling of fear and great joy at the same time. Maybe doing something good for someone or sharing your testimony.
So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
what comes at the end of chapter 28 is the great commission to go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing in the name of the father son and holy spirit
When God saves us we should have fear and great joy
But that joy should not just be when he saves us or at Easter or Christmas.
we should have fear and joy as children of his at all times. When GId answers our prayers. When we were one minute away from that mistake. When a Samaritan helps us or we have the opportunity to help someone else. We should always be putting ourselves in situations to do Gods work and his will. Even just waking up in the mornings we should do so with fear and joy.
Church dont you want others to know what this feels like. They will will know by hearing and seeing what God has done if you life
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
Paul tells the churchs of corinth how they ought to partake in the lords supper and we see that in the next scriptures on the screen.
we believe that if you are a child of god, jesus professing, bible believing, child of God that you can partake of the lords supper with us. but as you partake do so in with a clean heart.. just as the stone was rolled away let the burdens of your heart be rolled away this morning. let the power of the blood cleanse your soul like that of white as snow.
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.
Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself.
Jesus taught us how to pray, jesus also gave us the institution of the Lords supper.
26 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” 27 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, 28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Oh victory in Jesus my savior forever
he sought me and bought me with his redeeming blood
he loved me er i knew him and all my love is due him
he plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood
