TODAY we also want to fulfill the ordinance of our Lord by celebrating the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Him… in remembrance of His sacrifice on the cross.
The Word of God teaches us that Communion or Holy Supper is an act through which we express or show our union with Christ and our identification with His body, which is the Church.
While we sing “Do it in remembrance of Me” the elements of Communion will be distributed. I ask you to keep them for a moment so that we can participate in Communion all together.
BREAD/PAN: Pastor Dave.
The Scriptures tell us that as Jesus celebrated the Passover meal with His disciples, He took the bread and gave it new significance.
The bread would represent the body of Christ which was broken for us. Not only was His body abused, but the sins of the world were placed on His body
1 Corinthians 11:23–24 “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.””
CUP/COPA: Pastor David.
(1 Corinthians 11:25) In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
“Let us drink the cup together.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.”
