First

Luke 23:34 “Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”

A Saying of Forgiveness

It illustrates our Lord’s Intercession
It instructs us to forgive
It needs to not only be prayed for the lost but for our brothers and sisters in Christ

Second

Luke 23:42–43 “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

A Saying of Salvation

No works could be done by this man yet he inherited Heaven and the other thief went to Hell

Third

John 19:26–27 “When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.”

A Saying of Affection

Matthew 27:46 “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

A Saying of Anguish

Anguish of the mind
-You cant find anywhere Christ complained about his suffering until this point
-It was an inner anguish
-Inner anguish and and grief is harder to bare than pain of the body

Fifth

John 19:28 “After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.”

A Saying of Suffering

It shows his Humanity
It Shows suffering
It shows us a picture of the desire of his heart and should be ours

Sixth

John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”

A Saying of Victory

His work hear on earth was now complete!
He lived a sinless life
He died a sinners death
He has paid the debt!!!!

Seventh

Luke 23:46 “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.”

A Saying of Contentment

This saying could Easily be cuppled with the last
This saying is how we should live our life
Matthew says Christ “yielded” up the ghost.
