Who Missed Easter? The Church

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is that central moment in human history that serves as the foundational doctrine of Christianity. After having truly assumed human nature and submitted to an agonizing and shameful public death, the eternal Son of God was truly raised from the dead in his glorified physical body, no longer subject to decay and death. His resurrection validates his identity as the divine Son of God, demonstrates his irrevocable victory over death and the grave, and secures both the present salvation and future physical resurrection of believers.

we can and do call Him by all names but none of them got to the depth of this situation…He was and is all these things that they designate to Him but are lacking in understanding

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,

First to Martha. She says, in verse 21, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” “But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” Jesus answers (verse 23), “Your brother will rise again.” Verse 24: Martha says to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus says to her (verses 25–26), “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

I am the arrival of that day. You thought that day would come with the Messiah. I am the Messiah. It has come.

The Promise of Christ

The sickness is not to death

if you WOULD believe you will see the glory of God!!!

sickness is not greater than Jesus

physical death is not greater than Jesus-It is in the death of Lazarus that they see life=Jesus the only One who gives life
