We pray all days your will be done

1. What is the cause of the hopeless of this disciple of Emmaus?

But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel
They were hoping the things that God does not want.
Is a very common temptation in the Christian life: one day we decide to follow Jesus, maybe as a Child, maybe as young, perhaps as adult.
Bu suddenly Jesus does no act in the way that I was expected, I was asking please change this situation, please convert that person, please that my life be like this, that my family be like this, please that my country, please that the Church be like this… Bun then God has another plan…
Jesus ask why are you sad, why are you discouraged?
We answer, we were hoping that he would be the one that… fix my human desires…

2. No in may but in the way of God

The song of Frank Sinatra ends with this proud sentence, that is the sentence of the word: I did it my way
But the Cristian way of life is totally opposed we have to say I did not do my way, but the way of Go. I did the way of God.
We are full of people that want to do in his way, but no in the way of God. They want to make the Church in is own way. They get sad, anger…

3. Not all that call me Lord…

21 “Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter God’s kingdom. The only people who will enter are those who do what my Father in heaven wants. 22 On that last Day many will call me Lord. They will say, ‘Lord, Lord, by the power of your name we spoke for God. And by your name we forced out demons and did many miracles.’ 23 Then I will tell those people clearly, ‘Get away from me, you people who do wrong. I never knew you.’
To illustrate:—A man has two servants. One works continually all day long—but according to his own plans; the other, possibly, works less, but he does do what he is told. This latter of course is going to find favor in the eyes of his master; the other will not. Now, in applying this example, we may ask: Why should we perform actions for God’s glory if they are not going to be acceptable to him? God does not want sacrifices, the prophet Samuel told King Saul, but he does want obedience to his will:
The essence of perfection is to embrace the will of God in all things, prosperous or adverse. In prosperity, even sinners find it easy to unite themselves to the divine will; but it takes saints to unite themselves to God’s will when things go wrong and are painful to self-love. Our conduct in such instances is the measure of our love of God. St. John of Avila used to say: “One ‘Blessed be God’ in times of adversity, is worth more than a thousand acts of gratitude in times of prosperity.”
This is the essence of our Cristian life, do no expect that our desires will be done, but the desires of God, at any cost in our life.
Your will be done, that is enough for me.
