Welcome and thank you for coming today.

I know that Lauri wanted to be here with us but she is with her kids now in the States. We will see a video from them soon.
Brian was a man of few talents, and fewer words. He was He was shy but very welcoming.
We somehow remember the last things that people said. We don’t remember the second to last phrase, it is always the last phrase.
I remember our gathering in March. I asked every guy to bring something. He told me, “let me ask Lauri what I will be making for the gather”. That’s code for, “let me see what my wife will make for us all.”
Spending the whole day, just sharing what is on our hearts. Speaking with people that had similar vision. We asked if there is something that we can pray for, and he asked for a direction. A sense of where him and his wife would go do.
To me, that is the moment that I remember where I think of Brian. Till his last breath, he was doing something that he loved. To the very last moment, he was serving people. That was his calling. That is something he enjoyed doing.
He was kind, he cared for people, and he was always ready to listen. I’m sure that we all have stories that we will be able to share.
It is always like this, where we don’t mourn like those who don’t have hope. Brian had hope.
On Sunday, that same week, we visited Laurie and began sharing some stories. She said something that caught my attention:
Brian was struggling to find answer, but when reached that point (found answers), it is as if the weight of the world was off his shoulders.
I believe that Brian went into eternity with relief, and joy. He was full of hope and excitement.
We don’t mourn like those who don’t have hope.
We have hope in the future, we have hope in tomorrow. We have hope that we will see those that are no longer with us.
