Restoration Point APRIL 6, 2024

Step 5 : We revealed to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our sins.

1 John 1: 7- 9.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, in the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1: 7- 9.
(This btw is foundational to our prayer lives-specifically verse 9 Remember that always)
James 5:16
Confess your sins to each other, and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
You may have noticed that we are using 2 scriptures to go along with the word REVEAL.
As we read this specific step, (5) both of these scriptures are critical for us as we reveal to God, to ourselves and to another human being.
(Slowly:) The exact nature of our sins!

REVEAL

Today we will be learning about Reveal and how it applies to us and our restoration process.
Now I'm not talking about a reveal type of gift giving situation.
But allowing God to Reveal our sins and how it clouds up our thinking process. He can help us to reveal past sins to us, or from someone else that has done something sinful to you.
As you and I embrace the pain from our lifestyle choices, we begin to see maybe more clearly How God brings to light the things that hold us back in our restoration .
Today let's talk about taking our dirty nasty selves and letting God Himself clean us up! (pause) Picture a car, or piece of furniture, that you have restored, but Knowing that God is the Master artist in our crazy, broken up lives!
What He reveals in us will become something so much more beautiful than what we could ever imagine. I hope you're smiling already?
If you just smiled, you just revealed something didn't you? (Smile)

DO IT:

We talked last TIME about REVIEW. Did you get a chance to review your moral inventory yet? (PAUSE)

When we complete our inventory we begin to see where and how God will start to Reveal to us our sins.
Unfortunately it has taken most of us many, many years to acquire “Junk” Please know to reverse that, will likewise take many, many years as well. But be patient in your restoration/recovery
Again let me Remind you about the importance of COMPLETING your inventory !!

MATERIALS NEEDED FOR YOUR REVEAL

Bible
Accountability Partner/sponsor/mentor
Prayer time daily, and consistently
This recovery/discipleship meeting weekly
Disengagement from those things that squander your ability to let God reveal past sins or trauma to our lives

VERIFICATION:

When we participate realistically in our restoration by Revealing our sins to someone else. (accountability partner) (I recommend the same gender as you by the way!)

That's where we apply James 5: 16 to our lives!

ACTIVITY: That is where you can see the real healing begins

As we finish this step, tell me how many times did you hear the RE word? (Smile)
Reflection:
1). What is the purpose in allowing God to reveal things to you?
2). What is stopping you from allowing God to reveal things to you?
