When We See The Ascended Saviour Luke 24:50-53

Introduction

I. Our hearts are blessed by His Wonder.

A. The wonder of His Power

i) Matthew 28:18 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”

ii) Ephesians 1:22 “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,”

B. The wonder of His Position

i) Mark 16:19 “So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.”

ii) Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

iii) Hebrews 7:25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”

C. The wonder of His Promise

i) John 14:1–3 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

II. Our hearts are blessed by His Worship.

A. Basis of our worship

i) The last act of Jesus before ascending to Heaven was to bless his people.

ii) In response to His blessing they worshipped him.

iii) The two ideas go together He pours out His blessings in our hearts and we worship Him.

B. Bountifulness of our worship

i) As we see the Wonder of the Savoir we cannot help but worship.

ii) Our worship does not stop we carry it with us.

C. Beauty of our worship

i) Our worship produces great Joy!

ii) If you are depressed worship!!! If Your are worried Worship!!! If you are Tired Worship!!! If you are sick Worship!!! If you are lonely Worship!!! If you are mad Worship!!!

III. Our hearts are blessed as His Witness.

A. Their worship produced a witness.

i) Warren Wiersbe said “ witnessing is not something that we do for the Lord; but is something that he does through us if we are filled with the Holy Spirit.”

ii) Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

B. Their witness produced more worship.

IV. Conclusion

A. Have you seen the ascended Savoir on the right hand of the throne of God?

B. Do you Know the Lord?

C. Are you giving Him the Worship He deserves?

D. Are you a witness for Jesus?
