Easily Entreated = Easily obeying or Compliant

It does not mean:

It accepts any and everything.

It does not question if things are true and right.

It not search or verify the truth.

It does mean:

When it sees the truth, it accepts the truth, and applies the truth to itself.

John 8:30–32 “As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

When it comes to being a Christian there is only one truth.

Matthew 12:30 “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.”
Putting on the name of Christ is to choose a side, because there is no middle ground.

1) We make war with God when we make friends with the world

James 4:4 “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

So the choice must be made, are we friend or foe? Are we a friend of God or a friend of the world.
If you doubt that this is the line that has been drawn, try taking a stand.
If you choose true friendship with the Lord, I promise that the world will consider you an enemy. It will try to shame you, bully you, and punish you into denying full allegiance to the Lord. It doesn’t need you to drive the nails into Jesus hands, just to compromise your confession when confronted.

James 4:1–3 “From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”

2) God desires to be your friend (5-6)

James 4:5 “Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?”

James 4:6 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”

3) God never stops wanting to be your friend (7-8)

James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

James 4:8 “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”

4) Being God enemy should move you to tears (9-10)

James 4:9–10 “Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

5) This is not about being better than your neighbor (11-12)

James 4:11–12 “Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?”

6) What are you waiting for?

James 4:13–17 “Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
