John 21:15-19
John 21:15-19
I cannot get my mind and heart out of our Wed. night Bible study as we were studying 1 Corinthians 4. Paul is speaking to the Corinthians church about their division and their preference over which preacher they liked and also the division caused by human wisdom.
What Paul brought out to them in 1 Corinthians 4:9 “For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.”
Matthew 11:11 “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”
John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
Maybe that was what Jesus was leading Peter to.......in John 20:15-19........
Agapao.......Demonstrate love....Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Phileo.......An affection for someone and the enjoyment of what is loved.
Feed My Sheep......Tend to my Lambs
Preach the Word........2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
1 Peter 4:12–14 “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.”
1 John 4:19 “We love him, because he first loved us.”
Matthew 10:37 “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”
