INTRO:

Efficacy: the ability to produce a desired or intended result.
Peoples words have the potential for either good or evil. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit” (Prov. 18:21). Our words also have limitations. They are certain things that our words cannot produce. Compartively speaking, God’s words are always effective and are seen as producing there desired end.
Word (Heb. dabar, daw-bawr); word; matter; affair; thing; Word of God. There are many things that scripture refers to as the “Word of God”: Scripture; God’s decree by which He governs history; Prophecy; Jesus Christ; the gospel. All of these produce their desired end.

NEVER WITHOUT EFFECT

Empty (Heb. reyqam, ray-kawm); from 7386; emptily; ineffectually, undeservedly:- without cause, empty, vain or void. Conveys the idea of returning with empty hands after being sent.
God’s word is never without effect.
It is impossible for God’s word to not produce its desired end.
God’s word is accompanied with divine energy.
APPLICATION: trust that God’s word will not come back void.

ACCOMPLISHES ITS DESIRED END.

it shall accomplish (Heb. asah, aw-saw); To do or make. Refers to doing or making in general. Part of speech: verb, perfect. Used in describing God’s work in creation.
God makes (asah) the exanse over the waters (Gen. 1:7).
God makes (asah) the two great lights (Gen. 1:16).
God makes (asah) the beast of the earth (Gen. 1:25).
God’s word brought creation into exsistence. “By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host…For he spoke, and it came to be” (Psa. 33:6,9).
God’s word (decree) accomplishes or produces its desired end (see. Isaiah 46:9-11). Purpose (heb. chaphets, khaw-fates); take pleasure or delight in, desire; be willing; inclined. POS: verb, perfect.
APPLICATION: Trust that God will do what He says He will do. Have confinence that He will do all that He said He would without fail.

GOD’S WORD PROSPERS OR SUCCEEDS

Succeed (heb. tsalach, tsaw-lakh); force entry, cut through; cross; rush to; succeed; be successful. POS: verb, perfect.
God’s word overcomes any and all opposistions. Especially in the sinners heart.
“So also will be the word that I speak- it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do” (GNB).
God’s word of promise will produce its desired end. ‘God is not a man that he should lie, nor the Son of man that he should repent. That which he has spoken, shall he not do? And that which he does shall he not make it good?’
God’s word will produce the desired fruit
the gospel will produce its desired end in the sinners heart.
Christ the Word of God, will accomplish the salvation of His people (see. Isa. 53:10).
APPLICATION: History teaches us that God has done great things for his church. Trust that he will continue to do so.
CONCLUSION:
God’s word will never fail to do what was sent to do. Therefore, we must trust God to do what He said He would and know that it will be at the appointed time.
