Money & Stuff
What Was Your First Job?
Mine was mowing my neighbors yard.
- I mowed his yard every Saturday for $30.
- I saved every penny I ever made so that when I was old enough I could buy my own car.
- I was so proud of that old truck when I bought it, because I had worked hard and saved to buy it.
- Until I started to compare it to the newer and nicer trucks that my buddies were driving.
- Suddenly I was not content with my truck, and I needed more.
Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
Tonight, we are going to discuss what is the biblical perspective of wealth.

Sermon
Is it wrong to have money? No.
But it is wrong to allow money to have you.
Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

Going back to the story I shared at the beginning.
What did I do wrong as a young kid who saved my money and bought my first car?
I never gave.
I was so concerned about saving everything I had that I didn’t tithe, and I was even hesitant on buying anything for anybody.
Our attitudes toward money and our possessions reflects what we are deeply passionate about.
When you are GROUNDED, you will GROW.
