What do you own that is more valuable than that ticket?
I’m not talking about your family or you health. I’m talking about stuff. What stuff do you have that is more valuable than the winning ticket?
This morning we are continuing in our series of the Parables of Jesus.

These three parable are unique to the Gospel of Matthew and help us to have a better picture of the The Kingdom of Heaven

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, 46 and upon finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
Lottery Ticket:
What makes the kingdom of heaven so valuable?
If I sold my motorcycle for a hidden treasure, I could turn around and buy it back and 100 more like it.
But what makes the kingdom of heaven so valuable?

The Kingdom attracts all kinds:
As believers; you do this as well.

People will want what you have:
And will try and get it own their own.
Every once in while I will look at Cycle trader and I’m amazed at all the bikes that are 10 years old and haven’t even been ridden 5000 miles.
Its because someone saw you or someone like you riding and thought I want that! The freedom, the thrill, the ride. But then their but gets a little tender, or they get spooked……They see a bunch of post about grass clippings……
The same is true for people seeking God just for the benefits.
Jesus explains what happens to those folks.

49 “So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous, 50 and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
SO
The eternal destination of people depends on weather they are righteous or wicked.
An this is when we fall in the trap of comparing ourselves to one another.
“They are more wicked than me, so I’ll be ok….
Apart from Christ, we are all wicked.

Who are the righteous?
