We are all necessary parts of the whole.
1 Cor. 12 - Paul gives us a metaphor of the church being one body with many members.
1 Cor. 13 - Love between members in the body becomes the central attitude and action for all members.
1 Cor. 14 - He focuses on how the church at Corinth had it all wrong.
You see membership is about relationship with one another before God.
When you choose to become a member you are formalizing that this is your church family. Within that family there are relationships.
Other members
We are called to love and to serve
Bear with one another’s burdens.
To encourage and build up in the faith.
From Pastors and Elders
we are called to serve the members
in teaching the word of God
Protecting from worldly influences
showing the glory of God’s word and a life lived before Him.
To pastors/elders
To sit under their teaching
Love and pray for them
to submit to their authority within the church
The words “Church Membership” are simply used to define the ways that the Bible calls us a s a body of believers to submit to one another with care and conviction.
