The Root of the Matter
The Root of the Matter
2 Kings 19:30–31 “And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah Shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, And they that escape out of mount Zion: The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall do this.”
Ecclesiastes 12:13–14 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Romans 11:13–21 “For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.”
The Apostle wrote if the root be Holy so are the branches.
root — noun. a plant’s root system that remains underground and absorbs nutrients from its surroundings; sometimes including visible portions at the base of a plant or tree.
Jesus taought about the roots
Matthew 13:18–23 “Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.
This is he which received seed by the way side.
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; ( Anon (straightway -rightaway-immediatly)
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
(troubles came - problems- life itself and pomises from the enemy. of the life you could have if only)
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Hear the word and understand it that is the Formula of Revival.
Luke 13:6–9 “He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.”
The Lord is seeking fruit . The dressser of the vinetard is pleading let me apply more word and pray a little while longer I want this tree also to make it .
I you fail it is because you didnt allow the roots to be nourished by the word of the Gospel.
