Baptism is just one of many things that stands out in ecclesiology, which is the theology of the church as a whole. When we look at baptism it is important to look at what the scripture says, and how the church should then practice it. With many denominations, there are churches that look at baptism through different lenses, some churches look at baptism as proclamation, other churches look at baptism as salvation. Grudem describes baptism in this way coming from the word Baptistic, “namely, that baptism is appropriately administered only to those who give a believable profession of faith in Jesus Christ, (This position is also called a believer’s baptism.)”.
Scripture opens up about baptism in Matthew 3:13 as it explains the story of Jesus coming from Galilee to be baptized by Jon in order to fulfill righteousness (Mt.3:15-17

But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
In this scripture of baptism we see the actions of the Father, Spirit and Son acting in unison with each other for the purpose of fulfillment. This shows the bond that they all share. and the magnitude of why in the in the
