Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

Who would have believed what we heard? Who saw the LORD’s power in this? The writer is in awe at the Prophecy that is being revealed Who would have believed what we are hearing from God and Who has seen God’s Omnipotence on this fashion?

And the description of Christ is in verse 2. Let’s read it again For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

That’s why the book of Genesis describes Jesus as the seed of the woman.

2. He grew up like a small plant before the LORD, like a root growing in a dry land. The man delivers the seed.. And so the Holy Ghost impregnated Mary in the NT therefore the Genesis Prophecy is accurate Jesus is the seed of the woman a root out of dry ground.

Then the word says that he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

He had no special beauty or form to make us notice him; But in other biblical characters they were listed as good looking. Like Samson, David, Solomon, Absolawn and others.

The reason is that God the Son doesn’t have desirable feature is that He doesn’t want us to get caught up on the outer appearance but to be focused on the inward parts. There was nothing in his appearance to make us desire him.

Because what comes next is a hurting thing

Let’s read it together 3. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

This looks, sounds, and demonstrates how mankind rejects God’s solution to our sin problem. The prophecy is that Jesus was hated and rejected by people. That’s why on the cross the first word Jesus said was Father forgive them for they know not what they do.Jesus endured much pain and suffering. So much so that People would not even look at him. They beat Jesus so badly until Jesus was hardly recognizable.Lord have Mercy.

There’s a song were you there when they crucified my Lord. Jesus was hated, and prophecy says and we didn’t even notice him. Right there I just got to say I’m sorry Jesus. 3x.

Look at verse 4&5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

1. In verse 4 Jesus took our place He became the Propitiation Brothers and sisters Jesus took our suffering on him and Jesus felt our pain for us. And mankind saw Jesus’ suffering and prophecy says we thought God was punishing him. Boy ain’t that the pot calling the kettle black. Then

2.In verse 5. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Every year I feel it more intensely how Jesus suffered just for me. And I’ve got a quick question Who do know will be wounded for your mess ups, bruised for your sinful ways... Who you know will take all the licks for the whipping you ought to get? And who you know will allow what’s negatively happening to them be a benefit to you. They getting beat up so you could be healed up. That’s what Jesus did.By His Stripes we are healed.Jehovah Rapha the God that heals, Heals my hurts, Heals my heartaches, and Heals my hardship and horrors. Nobody but Jesus. That’s why the song writer said “can’t nobody do me like Jesus. Can’t nobody do me like the Lord.
