Pray in Jesus Name!
Pray in Jesus Name!
The Role of the Spirit in our New Redeemed lives-
The Spirit Guides us- John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own, but he will speak whatever he hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.
He reveals the work of Jesus, He is the spirit of Wisdom, knowledge and of Power!
The Spirit Glorifies Jesus-
He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
Jesus is most glorified when we understand the work of the cross in our lives-
We are completely redeem
The Sprit brings revelation of the work of Jesus
Everything the Father has is mine. This is why I told you that he takes from what is mine and will declare it to you.
The Spirit Makes sure we are not lacking-
“My People Perish for lack of Knowledge.” the Helper reminds us, and informs us!
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.
The Spirit makes our relationship with God, like Jesus’ relationship with God
In him you also were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed.
The Spirit is ours because of the Cross! We have a direct line to the Father
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and coheirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.
“In that day you will not ask me anything. Truly I tell you, anything you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. Until now you have asked for nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
Until this moment they had never prayed in “Jesus Name”
“In the Day”- this is speaking of the Day of Resurrection- From that Day forward the disciples of Jesus pray directly to the Father
The Veil was torn- Separation was removed
The Dake Annotated Reference Bible Notes for Verse 23
In the day of My going back to the Father you shall ask Me nothing, but you shall ask the Father in My name
The Name of Jesus is Powerful!
For this reason God highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
“anything you ask the Father in My name.”
We pray directly to our Heavenly Father - We have been adopted and pray to our Heavenly Father
Make our request in Jesus Name
Believe you Received
Believe you Received
Therefore I tell you, everything you pray and ask for—believe that you have received it and it will be yours.
WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO BELIEVE BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY RECEIVE?
It is praise
Remove everything that would hinder your prayer
Remove everything that would hinder your prayer
We forgive others when we pray!
