So who did we just learn about last week? ( Cain and Abel)

What happened in that story?

NOW! is time for an even wilder story.

What is the average age that people live up to these days? Well back in the beginning, people lived to be 500 to 600 to 800! There was one guy named Methuselah who was the longest lived person ever! He lived to be 969 years old!

There was a line of people from Adam’s son Seth that was a good line of people who favored the Lord. All these other people that populated the earth were not good people. Evil grew rapidly throughout the whole earth! And the women that were on earth were beautiful, so the angels in heaven actually married anyone they wanted and then had kids!! So what do you think happens when an angel and a human being have a baby? They became giants. Like....real life giants!! They were called the Nephilim. The Bible says Genesis 6:4

Have y’all ever seen movies with giants? Name a few! This was in real life!! But....this was not a good thing.

The wickedness that took place was not Gods intent. He shortened the human age limit to 120 years. Everything about the human race was evil all the time! How do you think God felt at this? God was in distress over the creation! The Bible says he actually regretted creating humans.

So…what do you think Gods going to do about it?

He is going to destroy all humans, animals,everything.

How do y’all think he’s going to destroy everything in here? (A flood)

But…there was one guy who found favor in the Lords eyes.

Anybody know who that was? (Noah)

So what can we learn from this part of the Bible?

Do not be overcome with evil. We are not like what is about to be washed away. And praise the Lord he is wanting everyone to come to repentance today! At that day in age, every single person was evil except for Noah and his family. So there was no choice but to plan to destroy the world and start over.

Do not be of the world, follow God and he will rescue you.
