Broken pieces
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
I want to talk about broken vessels, we all at some point have been and may still be broken, by past experiences and the things that we face or are facing right now We Are Broken! The first step of fixing any problem is to admit that you have a problem, face it head on; the thing is that we don’t think their’s a problem or we avoid it all together, we leave pieces of ourselves scattered throughout our lives, even as children, as babies we have nothing inside of us except innocence and an openness that is there because we haven’t experienced any part of life yet; the bible says
Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” we are born in sin and shaped in iniquity (because of the sin nature that came from Adam), so apart from this, we aren’t broken, at that point we are spiritually blank their’s nothing in the way to cause a breach; if we could stay like that we would be as close to God as he created us to be, but the broken vessel continues to brake into other pieces the pressures of life begin to pile up.
2 Corinthians 4:8–9 “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—”
if say, we are abused that’s left behind in our soul and leaves a hole to fester along with many other parts of our lives becoming the first brake in our vessel.
Jeremiah 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.” we are a work in process
Philippians 1:6 “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
we are it seems always going through something, what we encounter is sometimes the catalyst that can move us in one direction or another, but if it causes a piece to brake off then we start to form a pattern of brakes that can gain momentum and consume us if we are not careful.
Job 14:1 “Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble.”
So Job through all of the things that he suffered learned that it’s a part of life to go through somethings but God takes those things uses them to refine us sharpen us into what it is he desires us to be.
