Goh-ler-ah-gae - Good morning!
Introduce myself.
Tah Blu Doh Ma - Thank you very Much Pastor Tmala and the Karen Christian Revival Church of Colorado.
It is a privilege to be a part..
Deuteronomy 7:7 NKJV
7 The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples;
Deuteronomy 7:8 NKJV
8 but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
The story of the Karen People parallels the story of the Ancient Israelites.
You are loved by God the Father.
Why? (talk) deserving? Worthy?
He did not love you because you were more in number in other people, in fact, you are always among the minority.
So why did God set His love on you?
verse 8:
“because the Lord loves you…”
This is like the Lord saying “I love you just because… I love you.”
You are chosen and loved by God.
You have been chosen for a great purpose. To bring the Gospel to…
1. Your own People.
Among the Buddhist population.
You have to preach the Gospel to turn your own people away from:
a. Pagan Traditions
Colossians 2:8 NKJV
8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
You have to preach the Gospel to turn your own people away from:
b. Superstition
Buddhists are very animistic or spiritual.
Colossians 2:18 NKJV
18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
You have to preach the Gospel to turn your own people away from:
c. Materialism
Colossians 3:2 NKJV
2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
You have been chosen for a great purpose. To bring the Gospel to…
2. Other Nations.
Remember the Great Commission:
Matthew 28:19 NKJV
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
God uses adversity for His purposes.
The Karen people have gone through a lot. From the very beginning you have been a hunted down minority. That has made you strong.
Romans 5:3 NKJV
3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
Romans 5:4 NKJV
4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
James 1:2–3 NKJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
God uses the Movement of peoples for the spread of the Gospel.
Because of the insurgency, the Karen people have to flee as refugees from their land of origin.. you have been uprooted..
But migration, even though painful at times can be used by God to accomplish His purpose.
Acts 8:1 NKJV
1 Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
What was the outcome?
Acts 8:4 NKJV
4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.
You can reach the other nations around you.
Acts 11:19 NKJV
19 Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.
Like the ancient Jews, you have been scattered. But that scattering may result into a gathering into the Kingdom of God..
Acts 11:20 NKJV
20 But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
The key to doing this is the next generation, who can speak both the native language and the language of the majority culture.
Your young people are a bridge of the Gospel between cultures.
Another revival is about to come.. I believe God has chosen you:
1 Peter 2:9 NKJV
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
This may really hit home in your heart:
1 Peter 2:10 NKJV
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
The Spread of the Gospel Leads to the Return of the Lord Jesus.
Matthew 24:14 NKJV
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Again, you have been chosen by God for this purpose, to preach the Gospel..
Preach the Gospel to a) your own people and b) to the nations around you.
For this very purpose God a) used your adversity and b) the movement of people to spread the Gospel.
The spread of the Gospel will usher in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord did not leave you as orphans, you don’t accomplish this task alone. There is resurrection power available for you now.
Time Capsule. (picture here)
A time capsule is a historic cache of goods or information, usually intended as a method of communication with future people about that time. Time capsules are sometimes created and buried during celebrations such as a world's fair, a cornerstone laying for a building or at other events.
Time capsules are placed with the intention that they will be opened or accessed at a future date.
Some Christians treat the power of God as something suspended in time and will only be rediscovered at the return of the Lord Jesus.
Matthew 28:20 NKJV
20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
He is with you always. Go preach the Gospel and make disciples of all nations.
