2024 0414 Romans 12 Living at Peace

Verse 18

Romans 12:18

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Possible

* if it is possible

we are to actively search for the way of peace

sometimes division and turmoil come our way

no matter what we do, we are at war

continue to work at peace

it demonstrates God working in you

allows God to work through you

Depends on You

it is not someone else’s responsibility

you must be the peacemaker

do not submit to sin

do not have your trust broken do not put yourself in physical danger be led by the Spirit

Live at Peace

what we all desire

peace is being in the joy and presence of the Lord

peace that passes all understanding peace that declares all is good

peace because we have an eternal hope

Romans 12:16 NIV

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Live in Harmony

harmony suggests more than just peace

it is being of the same mind, same inclination

not a matter on agreeing on everything, but

being one in Christ, with all our diversity

Be Humble

requires a sense of humility

it is not considering yourself above others

it is treating everyone the same giving respect to them as a child of God

Low Position

be willing shows this mindset

people before position

talk to all with the love of Jesus

do not separate yourself

the world tries to do this - the hero, the superstar, the impressive pastor
