Galatians 5:22–23 (ESV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Mark 11:13 “And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.”
Do you just look like a christian, or are you bearing fruit? Taking the Lords name in vain!
Can and will you bear fruit in and out of season?
what do i mean about that?
James 1:2 ESV
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
Trials - tests
Ephesians 4:2 ESV
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
Bearing - continuing to love and being patient through faults.
Why is it important to bear fruit?
You are the body of Christ, Jesus came to reveal the Father!
How Do we bear more fruit?
Psalm 1:1–3 (ESV)
Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
John 15:1–5 ESV
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
He wants you to look different then the world.
