1. Righteous Anger
This kind of Anger is consumed with desire for righteousness or with God’s will, reputation and honor
This is the anger God has when God is angry - For injustice, idolatry and betrayal (Old Testament)
Examples
Jonathan was angry: 1 Samuel 20:34 “Jonathan got up from the table enraged, and did not eat on the second day of the new moon because he was upset about David, because his father had disgraced him.”
Moses was Angry: Exodus 32:19 “And as he came near to the camp, he saw the bull calf and dancing, and Moses became angry, and he threw the tablets from his hand, and he broke them under the mountain.”
Christians can also have this anger
Paul 2 Corinthians 11:29 “Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is caused to sin, and I do not burn with indignation?”
Paul says in Ephesians 4:26 “Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun set on your anger,”
Meaning: Should not think of yourself (selfish) and you are in complete control - its not uncontrollable
Sometimes people say or do things and say they could not help it - that is unrighteous or sinful anger
