Israel’s Unfaithfulness Punished

She gave what she had credited to her lovers, but it was from Hosea-v8

Hosea 2:6–8 “6 Therefore I will hedge up her way with thorns, and I will build a wall against her, so that she cannot find her paths. 7 She shall pursue her lovers but not overtake them, and she shall seek them but shall not find them. Then she shall say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, for it was better for me then than now.’ 8 And she did not know that it was I who gave her the grain, the wine, and the oil, and who lavished on her silver and gold, which they used for Baal.”

Isaiah 1:3 “3 The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not understand.””

Isaiah 54:5–6 “5 For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called. 6 For the Lord has called you like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit, like a wife of youth when she is cast off, says your God.”
