THE REASON FOR OBEDIENCE The dictionary meaning of obedience: “To respect, to honor, to listen, to pay attention, etc.”
The speech pleased the LORD: God was pleased by what Solomon asked for, in that he knew his great need for wisdom, discernment, and understanding. God was also pleased by what Solomon did not ask for, in that he did not ask for riches or fame or power for himself.

A. Will keep His word—1 Kings 3:14 (Follow the paths of your parents, and the saints of God)

B. Long life—Ps. 91:16 (Live long, and will show us His salvation)

C. Will fear God—Prov. 10:27 (Will fear God and have long life)

D. A good life—Eph. 6:3

(A good enjoyable, respected life when we obey) Disobedience is the root of all sins! Learn to obey daily. It’s better to obey than to be sorry.
