I. THE PROBLEM

B. Several meanings of stealings

1. To rob

2. To deal falsely

3. To steal

C. Matt. 15:19, “Out of the heart proceeds thefts …”

D. Stealing a person’s time is the same as stealing a man’s money or possessions

II. THE PEOPLE

A. Stealing from man—Lev. 19:35–36

(Giving right measurements—a “bakers dozen”)

B. Stealing from God—Mal. 3:8–10 (Give what belongs to God—you’ll be happier)

C. Stealing by cheating—Prov. 13:11 (Cheating on your job—being lazy) D. Lying is a form of stealing—Acts 5:1–2 (This husband and wife paid for their stealing)

III. THE PUNISHMENT

A. Cannot enter into heaven—1 Cor. 6:8–9 (Small or great—it will separate you from God)

B. Achan was stoned to death—Josh. 6:17–19 (Stealing will always “catch up” with you)

C. Rev. 21:8—stealers will be in hell! (Be satisfied with what you have—then you won’t be tempted to steal)

IV. THE PARDON

A. Confession of this sin—1 John 1:9 (You must be willing to confess)

B. Let His blood cleanse you daily—1 John 1:7 (You need a daily spiritual bath)

C. Seek the things above—Col. 3:1–2 (Keep your mind on Him, and not the things of the world)
