Worship and doubt often accompany each other

Matthew 28:16-17

Matthew 28:16–17 NIV84
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.

Worship=to honor, bow down to; example John 12:3

John 12:3 NIV84
Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

Doubt= to hesitate in this case. Doesn’t mean they doubted who Jesus was but their ability to do what he was asking them to do without HIS physical presence with them.

When do we have times when worship and doubt join together?

The Great Commission for ALL disciples

Jesus hands the baton off to them and us.

Matthew 28:18-20

Matthew 28:18–20 NIV84
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus has been given the Authority and now HE gives it to US.

2 Corinthians 13:14

2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV84
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

We have an awesome responsibility

Matthew 28:19

Matthew 28:19 NIV84
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Baptize= to immerse in the fullness of God’s presence(FATHER_SON_SPIRIT)

Matthew 28:20

Matthew 28:20 NIV84
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Teach=by word and example or like mentoring an apprentice the fullness of God.

That is where the doubt/hesitation sets in

It is one thing to immerse ourselves in following the Fullness of God but are we able to share and teach that to others?

For the first disciples it was accompanied by knowing the physical Jesus would not be there to help them. It is often the same for us.

But, we have HIS assurance.

Matthew 28:20

Matthew 28:20 NIV84
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Bring them to Christ is just the beginning, Teaching/Mentoring is where we come in in others faith walk when they come down from the Mountain.
