2 Corinthians was the Apostle Pauls fourth letter to the church at Corinth. Here we can detect a “pastor’s heart as the Apostle Paul shepherded the sinful Corinthians and revealed a love which comes only from God.” (Lowery, David K. “2 Corinthians,”)
Paul sent his letter to a church he founded in Acts 18: 1-17 during his second missionary journey.
Paul had a difficult journey during this 1st missionary trip. As he visted Philippi to preach the Gospel, Paul was beaten and thrown in jail (Acts 16) *Paul and Silas praying
In Acts 18:9-10, Paul has a vision from Jesus and he was told “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you, and no one will attack and harm you, for many peopld in this city belong to me.”
During this time in the book of Acts, Paul was laying the foundation of his ministry in Corinth. He served in Corinth for about a year and half Teaching about and admonishing them to continue in the faith which brought forth their salvation.
