WE
WE
We all experience the world differently. It's not what we do that defines us, but it's how we adapt to the truth of the world.
If you were in Edgewater last week, you heard us talk about what frame we look through
If you were with us last week, you heard us talk about this idea of unity and that that's where we're picking back up
We've been looking at Philippians through has had a lot to do with how we honor God
today i wanna keep walking through Philippians as i try to convince you to change your perspective, and actions
Here’s how it goes…
GOD
GOD
Christian Standard Bible ( Philippians Chapter 2)
1 If, then, there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any affection and mercy,
2 make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.
- We talked last week about Unifying with GODs purpose, Ideals, and Mission
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
4 Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.
5 Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus,
6 who, existing in the form of God,
did not consider equality with God
as something to be exploited.
- How often do we get on our high horse, JESUS IS GOD
7 Instead he emptied himself
by assuming the form of a servant,
taking on the likeness of humanity.
And when he had come as a man,
8 he humbled himself by becoming obedient
to the point of death—
even to death on a cross.
- Humility…Obedience…
- We can’t honor God with __anything__ until we humble ourselves
9 For this reason God highly exalted him
and gave him the name
that is above every name,
10 so that at the name of Jesus
every knee will bow—
in heaven and on earth
and under the earth—
11 and every tongue will confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
- No one escapes, no one rejects, they may not understand now but there will be a day
- all for the Glory of God
- all so that people will know HIM
God considered your soul important enough to come and die for
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
4 Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.c
8 he humbled himself by becoming obedient
to the point of death—

Glorify God in…
Our Humility

to the point of death—
Unified with Gods
Ideals
Plan
Morality
We can’t be unified until we humble ourselves, it’s where it all starts
WE
WE
What has changed in your perspective on life?
That it’s all about me
that people are only so important
My perspective is now
21 For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Requires Humility
MY MISSION
MY PLANS FOR MY LIFE
MY PROBLEMS AND MY MISTAKES
ARE YOURS NOW, THEYRE
YOUR MISSION
YOUR PLANS FOR MY LIFE
YOUR PROBLEMS AND MISTAKES
YOUR WAYS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN MINE
Would you chnge your perspective on this?
Have you thought what it would be like if we were all humble?
if we considered others before ourselves?
What if we honored God in our humility?
Consider others as more important
Small Group

How would you have done things differently now?
Share an example of humility. How Did this make you feel?
Which situation do you think would better honor God or at least could have?
