Wow our first scripture this morning really shows us exactly how much Jesus cares for us. His total being is for the work of the lord and most of all for us. We are the sheep he speaks of in the scripture. So as we look at this scripture how does Jesus, give in this scripture? Well that is evident he laid his life for us. He protects not only the sheep in his flock but as the good Shepard he will bring in the lost from other flocks. But we ask what does he receive? When we become part of his flock we just like sheep follow him completely and unconditionally. Have you ever seen a flock of sheep? When the farmer or Shepard who takes care of them comes in the flock they know him. they do not run from him and try to escape. They are calm and react to him. If new sheep are introduced to the flock they are flighty until They realize they are in a safe place and comfortable, they can count on the farmer to feed them. Is this not a great comparison to how we as humans react when we give our life to the lord? Think about when someone comes to our church for the first time, We want to be loving and caring but at the same time not over bearing. This is so how Jesus cares for us. When we allow him in our life we receive the peace and love unconditionally. But let’s look at how God gives to Jesus in

40. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.
40. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.
This scripture Jesus is acknowledging that the father has given him authority to give eternal life to those who believe in him. So you see eternal life started and continues to flow through Jesus Christ. I we plan on spending eternity in heaven at the right hand of God. We need to first ask Jesus for forgiveness and accept him as our lord and savior. you see we are told in John the only way to God is through Jesus Christ. So where are we in our walk? Once we give our life to Jesus then the door will be open for us to give and receive. What does that mean for us as Christians? We will begin to walk in Jesus and become more like him. When we give we will do it expecting nothing in return. Which is how God wants us to Give. But the question is what do we receive when we begin to give freely. Well a better way to explain this is what we are given freely when we begin to follow and act like Jesus. The rewards are endless. But do you realize when we do this our hearts are changed and we no longer look to see what we get but what we can give. But we serve a giving God. And as the old saying goes if we give we shall receive. In many different ways. First and foremost in

As you see it pleases God when we give freely. He gives us his love freely and it is never more evident than when we give in his name for his glory. Also let’s look at

We need to remember when we give it is not to receive, but it is to bless others and God will decide what we receive or don’t receive. It’s not like the coupon book that after so many good deeds they can be returned for a prize or you can work to the top prize of salvation. When we give our lives to Jesus we we do these things because we want to. When we give it is for God t receive the glory not us. We need to remember all things come through Jesus Christ for his fathers Glory. But we need to remember we are asked to be his hands and feet. When we do the things Jesus ask of us it pleases the father. That alone should be payment enough. You see when we become one in the lords fold we are one with him. he tells us in

Jesus tells us in the bible in heaven The first will be last and the last will be first. So you see when we give our lives to Jesus it is a very fine line between “Giving and Receiving.”
