By Striving For Unity (vs. 12-13)
By Striving For Unity (vs. 12-13)
There is no dividing force more powerful than the blood of Jesus.
My relationship to other church members is found in Jesus Christ.
By Serving God and His People (vs. 14-21)
By Serving God and His People (vs. 14-21)
We have different body parts for different tasks.
I serve the Lord and his people by serving in my station.
This means I need to know my station.
A Soldier that doesn’t know his station doesn’t know his responsibilities and duties.
By Showing Humility (vs. 22-27)
By Showing Humility (vs. 22-27)
God commands us to be humble people.
Romans 12:3 “3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.”
James 4:6 “6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.””
Humility allows me to see the needs of others.
Philippians 2:3–8“3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. 5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”
