Verse 1: He starts with a short, but deep, FACT: God KNOWS!
“испытал” is not necessarily negative or painful. “Searched” = “иследовал”
vss. 2-6: (Read with special EMPHASIS on all words that show God’s KNOWLEDGE)
He knows the past and the future as if it was the present
He knows our thoughts before they even become words or actions
vss. 7-18: David continues to praise God for His knowledge, but now he also adds the fact that God is omnipresent! He not only knows all there is to know, He is also there.
Also, he begins to praise God for not only knowing and being present, but also for acting/moving in eternity and in David’s personal life!
That means: we see David praising God because God does not only see all eternity from a distance, but because He is also present!
As if that were not wonderful enough, God is not only present at all times, He is actively working in his life at all times!
Not a warning (although is for a wicked person), but a comfort!
v. 10: “рука Твоя поведет меня, и удержит меня десница Твоя”
vss: 19-22: David, after praising God for being with him, expresses his loyalty to God.
“Whoever is against you, o God, I am against him!”
As NT believers, this may sound harsh or cruel.
“наша брань не против крови и плоти”
But when we read Revelation, we know: Our King conquers all!
David opens his heart and motives before an all-seeing God...
How sincere are we with our God?
vss: 23-24: In light of all David has said to his God, he finishes this psalm with a prayer of request.
If we notice, he begins this request with the same thought with which he began his praises.
"search” and “know”
“Your knowledge is so much greater than mine. You see my heart desires to be faithful to you. Continue doing your work in my life.”
“But, if you see that I have started on a path that will lead to unfaithfulness, stop me!”
David trusted God!
APPLICATION: Can we also praise and pray with David?
Do we understand that God knows, abides, AND works in OUR LIFE, too?
“If I made a plan that will end with sin or dishonor to You, stop me.”
“If I’ve already started on a path that is displeasing to You, stop me.”
Bitterness, обида,
