Elijah, Elisha, John, and Jesus 4.21.2024 BtP

Question: are there parallels between Elijah/Elisha, God/Jesus…or does the Bible specify a particular parallel?

The short answer: The NT (in the voice of Jesus) draws a parallel between John the Baptist and Elijah.

There are several other “interesting “intra-textual” issues.

Whose principle?

Again, Jesus seems to have deliberately chosen Elijah/Elisha and the “Northern Prophetic” model for His own ministry
