i heard nothing but good things about youth service
Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.
And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.
And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.
This story is a mircle and a sign.
The mircle was Jesus healed the blind man.
The sign is He’s revealing that He’s the Light of the world.
Life needs light!
You have someone who lived a life of darkness for his entire life.Someone who was born this way!
You ever here someone say “I was born this way?”
Regrading there sin I was born this way!
And it could be true you probably where born that way!
Because man is born in sin and shaped in iniquity! but we need to be born again.
Everything we see in this world is just a reflection of light.
Jesus said as long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
It doesn’t mean Jesus stops being the light of the world it means His light shines brightly while He’s in the world.
When Jesus happened the disciples where engulfed by darkness. Because there Light left. They where confused scared. They couldn’t see because of the darkness.
When the Holy Spirit descended they became endowed and empowered with Light once again.
The Word that became flesh is the true Light that came into the world
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.
He brought the light of truth into the world, truth about God John 1:18
No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
The light of God exposes.
The light of God brings healing
Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,
they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.
Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”
This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.
So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.
Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
The story of the women caught in the very act of adultery. They drag this women before Jesus to try to stump Him.
Adultery according to the law was punishable by death. so they wanted to test Jesus. Either they where trying to get Him to stone the women or trying to get Him to break the law.
Jesus said the famous statement “you who is without sin cast the first stone.” So the light exposes sin!
“Never Leave a Child in the Dark”
In Florence Nightingale’s “Notes on Nursing” (1859) she mentions on the first page the evil effects of “the want of fresh air, or of light, or of warmth.”
In [the] chapter “Health of Houses,” the longest of her five sections deals with light. “A dark house is always an unhealthy house, an ill-aired house, a dirty house.”
And in her added final chapter to girls on “Minding Baby,” she writes: “Plenty of light, and sunlight particularly, is necessary to make a child active, and merry and clever.… Never leave a child in the dark.”
Light is the source of life!
Light is a symbol of God
Light speaks of God purity
1 Jn 1:5
1 John 1:5 (NKJV) — 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
See also Job 25:4–6; Is 5:20; 1 Jn 1:7
Job 25:4–6 (NKJV) — 4 How then can man be righteous before God? Or how can he be pure who is born of a woman? 5 If even the moon does not shine, And the stars are not pure in His sight, 6 How much less man, who is a maggot, And a son of man, who is a worm?”
The light of God has no equal theres no equivalence.
The moon only reflects the light of the sun.
The stars and dim compared to Christ. They are far less glorious
Man compared to a starry universe is so insignificant and small. Bildad compared man to a maggot a worm. Because of Jobs great suffering he literally had sores with worms in them Job 7:5 “My flesh is caked with worms and dust, My skin is cracked and breaks out afresh.”
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
We walk with Christ we walk in the light.
