We easily forget what we possess as part of God's end-times Gospel people.

We are Spiritual (vv. 1-5)

Colossians 3:1–8 “1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. 5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. 8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.”

Spiritual ones aid those who fall. (vv. 1-2)

Galatians 6:1–2 “1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”

Spiritual ones are honest evaluators. (v. 3-4)

Galatians 6:3–4 “3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”
Calvin: It is not what we gain by detracting from others, but what we have without any comparison, that can be regarded as true praise. ..the glorying of which this passage treats, is that of a good conscience, in which the Lord allows his people to indulge,

Spiritual ones are diligent load-bearers. (v. 5)

Galatians 6:5 “5 For every man shall bear his own burden.”
It is enough for each to bear his own burden; why then do we busy ourselves with the conduct of others? Why charge ourselves with a burden heavier than we can bear?
Thomas à Kempis

We will reap (vv. 6-10)

Good teaching must be shared. (v. 6)

Galatians 6:6 “6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.”

Good sowing will be rewarded (vv. 7-9)

Galatians 6:7–9 “7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Good deeds must be done. (v. 10)

Galatians 6:10 “10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

We are a new creation (vv. 11-15)

Some boast in themselves (vv. 11-13)

Galatians 6:11–13 “11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand. 12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ. 13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.”

We boast in Christ (vv. 14-15)

Galatians 6:14–15 “14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”
The cross stands in bold opposition to the natural man.21
A. W. Tozer

We will be blessed (vv. 16-18)

Galatians 6:16–18 “16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God. 17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus. 18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.”
