Exodus

In Exodus take a look three questions raised.
How does this bood of the Bible move the storyline of the entire Bible book along?
How does it give us some of the principles of the gospel of grace?
How does it show Jesus?
How does this bood of the Bible move the storyline of the entire Bible book along?

Levite

it’s about holiness.
It’s about us.
It’s about how God build the holiness for his people.
How they could worship and come into His presense.
How does this book move the storyline of the Bible forward.
How does this book tell the gospel priciples of salvation by grace.
How does it actually shows Jesus.
How does this book move the storyline of the Bible forward.
The book describes the gospel by the rules. The rules regarding you can’t eat, touch, wear, go places and so on. By regulating them, God separated His people from other nations. It makes them holy. So they could be distinct from other cultures and idols that other nations possessed and followd.
Holy means set apart. You could not understand the meaning of the holy unless the utensils in the Tabernacle could be called holy. how could they be holy? because they’re set apart for God, they are dedicated to God to be holy.
Of course, holy person could be one who obey His law. However, Holiness is not just compliance to rules holiness. It is wholly dedicated to Him and dedicating your life to Him. everything for Him, not for you and for others.
How does this book tell the gospel priciples of salvation by grace.
The principle of the gospel in it is that they are totally dedicatied to God among the nations. Levite tells us that nobody connot keep the rules and be holy before God. There are so much God required us in his characteristics. there could be no one without sin.
How does it actually shows Jesus.
Every single sacridices shows how Jesus saved our sin. Hebrews explains precisely about that. Every single one of sacrifices points us to some aspect how Jesus Christ saves us. Jesus pays our ransom and our debt and Jesus heals the relationships with God. Jesus made us to dedicate to only God by healing our heart and sving us from our sin.

Judges

In Judges, we can see the accomplishment of Abraham covenants that Israel got the promised land, became the great nation, and would be a witness to the Nations by the way in which reveals the glory of God. Until the end of the book of Joshua it looks great and looks accomplished of the God’s covenant. However, the book of Judges, Samuel and Kings shows this is not true. They totally failed.
There is no king in Israel everyone did what was right in His eyes. Judge chapter 17 and 21.
It says people won’t follow the word of God.
Unless there’s some kind of divine intervention, there is no way that the promise is going to be fufilled that Istael will be the light to the Nations and Israel be able to bring salvation.
Libral people can say God will save His people unconditionally while conservative people say no God will save them conditionally if you perfectly obey the work of God. The answer was never given until we get to the cross. We see Jesus Christ obeyed God fulfilled the covenant perfectly so that God could love us unconditionally.
How does Judges move the storyline of the Bible along?
2. How does this book illustrate the gospel principles of salvation by grace?
The grace of God repeatedly had given to Israel through the judege such as Samson and Gideon even if Israel commited to sin again and again deeply.
3. How does Judges introduce Jesus Christ?
The last story of Levite at the end of chapters showe terrible story that he cut off into 12 pieces of his concubine. This is telling that how bad things are in human unless we get a king. We are never really going to be okay.
The husband, Levite sacrificed his wife’s body for excuse and use it for the civil war. It tells true husband is Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself to live and love me. True owner of churches is only God. He himself can satisfy us as the leader of church and he can solve out problems. Therefore, we have to expect Him only by trusting Him and following His word.
